#HMBlog: 'Chemtrail' bill advances through Florida Senate. Why do so many 'Conspiracy Theories' end up being true?
Hold on a second, one of the oldest “conspiracy theories” I can remember in my life was that some sort of shadowy organization, probably Government was flying planes into the atmosphere and releasing chemicals to…well..I don’t know exactly know what. Change the weather, I guess. I never really got into that theory because it seemed easily explained by the reality of Contrails, the condensation produced from jet engines and the pressure or something I don’t really know, I’ll ask Grok:
Alright, so yea, it’s a debunked conspiracy theory, we are all in agreement. However, since it’s the Whacky Era that we live in, not so fast. Miami Republican Sen. Ileana Garcia filed bill SB56, the Geoengineering and Weather Modification Activities act. The Senate Appropriations Committee on Agriculture, Environment and General Government reviewed the bill (SB 56) before approving it in a 10-2 bipartisan vote. The measure now advances to the Senate Rules Committee. Sen. Ileana Garcia, introduced the bill, aiming to halt human-induced weather modifications in Florida. The state presently permits cloud seeding and other forms of “artificial weather interference” by licensed operators. Wait, what? So there is at least some truth to people flying planes into the sky and squirting juice up there to mess with the weather? OK, so, that means it’s not a conspiracy theory, stop calling it that. Obviously contrails exist…but so do chemtrails as it turns out. Both can be true. How often is it a contrail or a chemtrail that you see in the sky? Probably overwhelmingly it’s condensation from the jet engine and the pressure or something, I don't know. (go check out the Grok explanation above, TLDR for me).
It seems like more and more, these Conspiracy Theories that people are chastised for or worse, silenced for, end up having at least a shade of truth (like the chemtrails). Many times these kookie theories end up being outright factual- Covid’s Lab Leak Origins is the favored theory by the CIA, for example.
Boy, remember what happened if you said that 5 years ago? You were called a racist at best and thrown offline at worst. Apoorva Mandavilli of The New York Times referred to the lab leak theory as having "racist roots". In May 2021, she tweeted, "Someday we will stop talking about the lab leak theory and maybe even admit its racist roots. The New York Times, four years later, released an Opinion piece letting the general public know that they were “misled” by Scientists over the origins of Covid-19. Oh…well..thanks, I guess? The problem was, at the time, people in the out-group from reporters at the New York Times were the one’s speaking about this ‘Lab Leak’. Senator Tom Cotton, a Republican being the one that comes to my mind first and foremost. There’s a visceral reaction from our Media to automatically take the opposite point of view from the opposition. Even if they’re right. Also, it’s not their fault for being misled, they didn’t like unwashed masses who were saying it, you see:
Another ‘conspiracy theory’ 12 weeks ago was the mental decline of Joe Biden. Media spent a lot of time debunking anyone who was spreading this conspiracy.

Amazing. I can only imagine what ‘Conspiracy Theory’ will be true tomorrow.
#HMB 246 - Casita Creep, Trump in Tampa & Tinder Trollops

Ah, yes, we're only a few years into the Trump Era and he's been campaigning for 2020 since he was sworn in. The Trump Tour hit the Tampa Fairgrounds last Tuesday. I headed over there to talk to some of these folks and was pretty disappointed by how normal everyone was for the most part. The Young Turks showed up and managed to find some lunatics and even they weren't that bad but they must have had to do a lot of digging because I didn't have that experience. The best part of the rally was the lady flipping of CNN's Jim Acosta and heckling the network reps during the rally. CNN and the President have been bumping heads since before the election. Jim went on after the Tampa Rally to ask Press Secretary Sarah Sanders if she would publicly say that the Press isn't the enemy of the People:
CNN stinks, and everyone knows it. It's the FOX News of the Left and they spend most of it's 24 hour news cycle shitting on Trump while FOX slurps on Trump's balls. It's so easy to find other sources for news in the age of the internet so don't be lazy and seek out some other sources because if you're on board with a network you're either an unhinged ideologue or a fool. They're just filling the market void for what ideologue's and idiots want to consume though so I can't hold it against them.
Anyway, this week on the pod we learn about some creep filming ladies in the bathroom at a popular restaurant in St. Pete, Tampa ICE protesters for from U-Locks around their necks to handcuffs after being arrested earlier last week and their tent city taken down. By the way, what do you do at a protest if you're locked to other people and you have to go to the bathroom? Do you just poo your pants? Also, we get into those interview from people I talked to at the Trump Rally and I learn what a "Sugar Baby" is from a woman I matched with on Bumble and it mostly hurts my feelings.
